Glen Oaks hit the road Saturday for a pair of volleyball matches at the Owens Invitational, finishing 1-1 for the day.
The Vikings were defeated by Hagerstown Community College 25-17, 25-17, 25-11 in the opener. Sophomore Keegan Russell led the attack in the opener with eight kills and classmate Kylie Quist was next in line with five. Freshman Layla Abner collected 13 digs.
GOCC battled back in the evening match with a 25-11, 29-27, 25-18 win over Terra State. Quist produced 12 kills on 35 attempts and Osburn came away with 14 assists. Russell served up three aces and led the squad with 18 digs. Bekah Beachey finished with a solo block and six block assists as the Vikings improved to 2-4 this season.
The program is back on the road Tuesday, Sept. 9 against Andrews University before hosting the Viking Quad Sept. 13 at the Doyle Center in Sturgis.
