At home Thursday night, the Glen Oaks volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to MCCAA foe Lansing in the conference opener. The Vikings battled in the first set but the Stars came away with a 30-28 victory. Glen Oaks bounced back with a 25-19 win in the second game. However, Lansing came back strong with back-to-back wins, 25-20 and 25-17.
Kylie Quist produced 16 kills to lead the Vikings offensively, while Keegan Russell was right behind with 15. Maddie Osburn dished up 28 assists to go with three aces and 13 digs, and Braylyn Hernandez finished with a team-high 19 digs. Russell added 14 digs.
The Vikings slipped to 5-6 overall and will go on the road Sept. 23 to take on Marian University's Ancilla College.
