Vikings get revenge against Schoolcraft
GOCC softball nabs another victory in Myrtle Beach.
Glen Oaks softball defeated Schoolcraft College 5-3 Tuesday in their second game of the day in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. It was revenge for the Vikings, who had lost 10-4 to the Ocelots the prior day.
Schoolcraft started ahead with solo runs in the top of the first and second innings. GOCC got on the board with one in the second, then took the lead scoring twice in the third inning. The Ocelots tied it at 3-3 in the top of the fifth. The Vikings reclaimed the advantage with one in the bottom half, then scored once more in the sixth. Glen Oaks outhit Schoolcraft 11-7 for the game.
Ava Mejia pitched a complete game victory and struck out five while allowing seven hits, three runs, one earned run, and four walks. Mejia had a double and single at the plate as well with two RBI.
Brady Lesher had three singles and a run, while Alea Fisher had two hits and a run. Sierra Smith and Jaden Adams both had one run and one hit. Aubrey Mealor and Kacie Scott each had one hit and Melina Ragotzy scored once. Sierra Carpenter had one RBI.
Through three days in South Carolina, Glen Oaks is 2-3.
