Saturday
Glen Oaks 95, North Central Michigan 78
Down 8-0 to start the game, Glen Oaks snapped out of it and tied the game at 19-19 on an Amauri Moore layup midway through the first half.
Moore would give the Vikings their first lead on the next possession, while layups from Jordan Lomax and Kelvion Brown moved the momentum fully in GOCC's favor. Another Moore lay-in and a Darius Styles jumper gave the Vikings an eight-point cushion. Wesley Roberts and Akin Smith joined the fun with field goals, Styles drilled a trey and Jordan Lomax threw down a dunk for a 40-27 lead.
Though NCM answered with a little run, Moore's tip-in at the buzzer made it a 47-40 halftime lead for the Vikings. He'd finish with a game-high 25 points and eight rebounds.
Moore was still feeling it to start the second as he knocked down a jumper on the team's first possession. Brown and Joreim Lomax converted field goals early but NCM rallied to make it a two-point contest with 15:37 to play.
A Brown layup was followed by a triple and a jumper by Jordan Lomax, who would add a layup a little over a minute later to make it a 65-56 GOCC lead. Joreim Lomax, Smith and Moore all had field goals to keep North Central Michigan at bay. Joreim Lomax hit a contested jumper and Moore attacked the basket for a double-digit cushion with under 10 to play.
Joreim Lomax, who ended the night with 23, scored the next seven points in a crucial stretch for Glen Oaks, while Styles piled on with a trey to make it an 85-68 game with 4:34 remaining. Moore would go on to score on a pair of layups, Roberts got a bucket and Jordan Lomax threw one down to close things out.
Jordan Lomax finished with 20 points, 13 rebounds and four steals for Glen Oaks, which improved to 7-4 overall. Brown had eight points and seven rebounds, Roberts had four points and three boards, and both Brown and Smith had three assists.
