Glen Oaks Community College dropped both games of a MCCAA Western Conference doubleheader to Kellogg Community College on Wednesday.
Game 1
Kellogg Community College defeated Glen Oaks Community College 12-1 in five innings.
Kellogg broke the game open with eight runs in the second inning and added four more in the third to take control early. Glen Oaks managed three hits in the contest and scored its lone run in the fourth inning.
Sophomore outfielder Braeden Becker (CF) led the Vikings with a double and scored the team's only run. Freshman infielder Jace Gray (2B) drove in the run, finishing with a hit and RBI. Sophomore outfielder McCullan Greene (LF) also added a hit.
Sophomore pitcher Collin Yoder started for Glen Oaks, allowing 12 runs (six earned) on eight hits over two innings while striking out two. Freshman pitcher Kaleb Williams provided two innings of scoreless relief, giving up two hits and striking out none.
Game 2
Kellogg Community College completed the sweep with an 18-0 win over Glen Oaks Community College.
Kellogg again struck early, scoring nine runs in the first inning, five in the second, and four in the third to secure the run-rule victory.
Glen Oaks recorded seven hits in the game but was unable to push a run across. Sophomore outfielder Logan O'Malley (RF) led the Vikings with two hits. Freshman pitcher/infielder Oliver Nisen (1B), sophomore outfielder Tyler Shisler (LF), sophomore outfielder Braeden Becker (CF), sophomore outfielder McCullan Greene (RF), and freshman infielder Jace Gray (2B) each added one hit.
Sophomore pitcher Travis North started on the mound, allowing 12 runs on nine hits over 1.2 innings. Freshman pitcher Caden Hall followed, surrendering six runs (four earned) over 1.1 innings. Freshman pitcher Drake Graver closed out the game with a scoreless inning of relief.
