Baseball Game 2: Dyersburg State 12, Glen Oaks 2
In the finale of a weekend series at Dyersburg State in Tennessee, Glen Oaks baseball fell 12-2. Both Viking runs came in the top of the fourth inning. An error scored Jayden Hamilton and Steven Drewyor made it home while the Eagles were trying to catch another runner stealing.
The Eagles took the advantage with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. It was 3-2 after the fourth, but Dyersburg State pulled away with three in the fifth and then six in the sixth. The Eagles outhit the Vikings 7-2. Peyton Simmons and McCullan Greene had the Glen Oaks hits.
Andrew Onuegbu was the starting pitcher for GOCC, tossing 4.2 innings and striking out two while allowing five hits, six runs, five earned runs, and four walks. Eagles starter Parker Davis struck out 11 with five walks, two hits, two runs, and one earned run in his complete game win.
The Vikings were swept in the series, falling to 1-10 on the young season. Dyersburg State improved to 9-6 with their home wins. Glen Oaks has four games ahead in the first three days of March in Vincennes, Indiana.
