Baseball Game 1: Dyersburg State 14, Glen Oaks 4
Glen Oaks baseball was defeated 14-4 Sunday in the third game of the weekend trip to Tennessee against Dyersburg State. The Eagles opened the game with five runs in the first inning and wouldn't surrender the lead.
The Vikings got back within striking distance with three runs in the top of the third inning. With the bases loaded, Brayden Clark had a three RBI single that brought in Cameron Humeston, McCullan Greene, and Peyton Simmons. Dyersburg State countered with two runs in the bottom half. GOCC got one back in the fourth as a Steven Drewyor sacrifice brought in Andrew Onuegbu. The Eagles would finish things off with four in the fourth and three in the fifth to get to the run rule threshold up ten.
Onuegbu had two of the Glen Oaks hits in the game with the other hits from Clark, Jayden Hamilton, Humeston, and Greene. Brady Mescher was the defeated pitcher, allowing nine hits, 11 runs, ten earned runs, and four walks with four strikeouts in his four innings of work.
